Ms. Greta Gerwig is the writer for the movie "Little Women" (Columbia Pictures, 2019) that is based on a published book by Ms. Louisa May Alcot. There was a lady named Jo March who is very eager to make her own name in the 1860's, a writer that will look back on the rough but tender times that she spent with her three vivacious sisters and a close pal. To elaborate more here is the more detailed summary of the movie. In the years after the Civil War has been done, Jo March went and live in New York City and makes her living as a writer, while her sister Amy March studies painting in Paris together with their Aunt March. Amy has given a chance encounter with Theodore "Laurie" Laurence, a childhood crush who proposed to Jo, but was ultimately refused. Meg March, the oldest sibling was married to a school teacher named John, while the shy sister Beth developed a catastrophic illness, but that brings the family back together.

One of my reactions to this movie was the passion of Jo on being a writer. She was eager to make her own path or way to become a famous writer. There was a scene or part in the movie where Jo went to a publishing company or house where she introduced her story to be published or just to have some cash in exchange to it. Then the man in the publishing company checked her story and did some writings where at first she was seen to be upset. The man said that it is too long and needed to be more précised that leads to revisions. Jo said that they could buy it and do the revisions for a certain amount of cash, which is not that reasonable but bearable. Jo always put her heart into what she writes; you will see how she treasured writing in the movie, but then you will also see there has been a part where she decided not to write anymore but the turning point is when someone inspired and pushed her back on the path where she was lost on. In the world we are now living on, writers are not that noticeable. Well, actually it is somewhat more exposed in this century than before that no one really take time to look a single glace to the writers. They look down to writers since people believe that it is not worth to be a writer it won't feed you enough, it won't let you live. Being a writer is difficult; it takes a lot of courage and passion. Courage in a sense where as a writer their mind, body and soul must know that there will always be criticisms about their works and that should be the key to success because it will definitely help them to improve as a writer. Meanwhile, passion is also something that is difficult to have. Because it will just came up to your senses that you have this urge to write and that will make you express yourself better to put into words. They can also experience what Jo experienced where she losses her drive but not her passion. Her passion just slept and rested and when someone or something triggered it, it will come out more beautiful than ever. I recommend this movie for two specific viewers. First for the writers, of course as I have said before the main character here is a writer her perspective is greatly influenced her being a writer. In addition, this movie will help the aspiring writers or even the writers already to make Jo an inspiration and to get some ideas how to fight for their passion and just keep on writing as long as you are happy. Why do I recommend this too for adolescence? Because in that period in their lives where they are still trying to figure things out. This movie will give them the gist of making decisions in their life. They will see how to weigh things first before deciding because if you decide irrationally you will be prone of making bad decisions that will lead to wrong results. In conclusion this movie is worth watching for, whether with family, friends, or even just by yourselves. Life lessons and realizations are everywhere her in this movie.
