Reflection #1: Trends and Network

The meaning of network based from the internet is usually informally interconnected group or association of persons such as friends or professional colleagues. In other words, network is a group or system of interconnected people or things. It is like a web that has many strands which still connects you all from one thing. A trend on the other hand is a general direction in which something is developing or changing. It is a topic that the subject can be seen from many posts on social media websites or applications within a short period of time. However, in some instance a trend can also turn into a normal thing as time goes by.

Network and trend can be associated with each other in many kinds of forms. Generally, a trend can lead into making a network in a way that the trend has been made and expressed through an article or even just a picture without any explanation. With that people who are in line with the interpretation of one people and other agreed to it since their opinion is just like his. A network will be formed as it is made of people who are associated with each other on one matter. Vice versa, the network can also lead into making a new trend, for example the people who love baking also designing or arts. They thought of making desserts or something that they baked into an art, in which they will design the bake goods based on their artistic ways. Network and trend has many more connection than we ever imagine and knew. And that is when it also affects me as a person, as I belong to the network and also belong to the trend.

These two are part of the society as we continue to evolve as the years pass through. In our society network and trend can be seen, for example the different strands in Senior High school. The strands are made for what suits the characteristics that the student want or already has and will correlate the subjects for the future course of the student in college. I chose HUMSS as I believe it will help me to boost my confidence in myself, also in speaking to crowd and blessed that it really did. I did choose based on what I want to get or benefits from it some of my classmates are just like me and we became a network that came from a trend. That is from choosing from those strands during our time, STEM was popular as it has been famous for chance to get more jobs from it and it has established the superiority that now I realize did exists because of people only and there are no technicalities behind it. As a young adult in this society there are also things that I am doing or making because of trends. There are hair colors or hairstyles that are trending for this specific year, for example the hair style where you will only color a few portion of your hair underneath and it will be only seen if you ponytail your hair. I did that because it is very trendy and I saw people did it and it turns out so nice that I liked it so I did it. Another one is in KPOP, I do like Korea generally the culture, the idols, the songs and all. I do love it and as a Kpop fan there are many of us who love a specific group to the extent we can talk about their things in life as we watch them and fan girl over them. Seventeen became trending because they are self-producing idols from the dance to the song and all. I love them before that but because we all do love them well we have formed a network we do also have a name called Carats. There are many more things that I can say that trends and network really affects me as an individual, a student and many more.

Network and trends affects us all even we do not notice it at all since it seems like a normal thing already to us to go with the flow, do what is trending, vibe with the crowd and all. It is not bad, not to notice and think things critically as it is do not need to be thought deeper most of the times. Nevertheless, we people are naturally trendy we might not know that we are already starting a trend and that is because we are all unique but can be one as we all appreciate a thing that we are both into. There are thing that are more than we focus on we just need to larger our scope and see the bigger picture that awaits us.
